Harrow Carers

You CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Charity Name: Harrow Carers

As an independent charity operating in the London Borough of Harrow for 19 years now, donating your car would give us great mileage(!)
Harrow Carers would be able to continue our work for CARERS of all ages (currently this is 5 years to 95 years!). A carer is a real UNSUNG HERO:
people who provide unpaid care for a person that has a physical or mental health problem including autism, dementia and learning disabilities, or is dependent due to age and long-term illness.

This year [2015] we will be supporting over 3,500 carers and their families.

Our mission:
To address the issues affecting the social and emotional development of carers in Harrow.
Why does it matter?
The estimated value of unpaid care provision in Harrow amounts to approximately £450m every year. Our NHS would simply fall apart without carers!

Our work:
We provide a holistic service for carers of all ages to help improve their wellbeing and resilience so they can continue to care without compromising their health and social inclusion. Type of activities range from computer-workshops to school outreach work to yoga-classes. Our departments
are:
• Mental Health and Wellbeing
• Respite
• Older carers
• Young carers
• HomeShare

Our Team:
Training our volunteers and employees is important to us: currently we have
10 full time staff, 10 part time staff, 17 care support workers and over 40 volunteers.
