The Process To Scrap Your Car
Scrapping your car couldn’t be easier. Just follow the quick and easy steps below,
1. Firstly, get in touch with the team on 0207 736 4242 or fill out our online form and one of the team will give you a call to confirm some final details about your scrap car. We’ll also use this opportunity to make sure you are aware of the collection process, our fees, and your responsibility to inform the DVLA.
2. Our collection agents will call you to arrange the collection of your car. If you have the vehicle’s V5C (logbook) you need to complete the section related to selling or transferring a vehicle to the motor trade. This is section 4, or section 9 in older versions of the V5C. Ensure you keep a hold of this section to notify the DLVA but give the rest of the logbook (V5C) to the collection agent.
3. At Giveacar we put charity first. Depending on the condition of your scrap car we may auction it instead of scrapping. We will inform you of which option we’ll take whilst we have you on the phone! If your car is destined for the scrapyard, we only use Authorised Treatment Facilities. If you would like a copy of the Certificate of Destruction, please get in touch with the team and we’ll be happy to help. You’ll receive a receipt from Giveacar once the donation is made. We also ask the charity to send a letter of thanks to you. Please note it takes 6-8 weeks for your charity to receive your donation from when the car is sold.
Scrap your car and do some good at the same time, call us on 0207 736 4242 or fill out our donation form.
How it works:
Tell us about your unwanted car or motorbike. We'll arrange to collect it for free.
Depending on its condition, your vehicle will either be auctioned or scrapped.
We'll donate the proceeds to your chosen charity and send you a receipt.

TwentyTwenty is a charity that breaks cycles of worklessness, hopelessness and dependency in the most deprived areas of Leicestershire and Derbyshire and Rutland, through working with young people aged 11-24. We believe that every young person has incredible potential and that the most disaffected young people are resources to be developed rather than problems to be solved.
The young people who come to us live without hope, in the most deprived neighbourhoods, many from families who are now long term unemployed. We exist to help these young people become independent, healthy, aspirational citizens who have the skills and wherewithal to hold down secure and progressive jobs.
Leicestershire and Rutland Community Foundation
Leicestershire and Rutland Community Foundation is a charity who helps local individuals and companies to give money, in a tax-efficient way, directly to local needs. Our local charities and voluntary groups do amazing work. They help our children and young people, look after our elderly, work to prevent crime and even support us when we are ill. They help to tackle unemployment and training problems, invest in our local social enterprises and help people into sport and the arts.
RSPCA Leicestershire, Woodside Animal Centre rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes hundreds of neglected and abandoned animals each year. As an independently funded centre, we rely on the generous support of the public and local businesses to keep running. We’ve been around for nearly two hundred years. Our advice is based on evidence, provided by scientific research, and a wealth of practical hands-on experience. You can be sure that our advice is of the highest standard – giving you peace of mind.
Featured local charity
Had been putting off finding a home for my unused motorbike but a move forced the issue. It wasn't worth a fortune but deserved better than the local scrap yard so tried Giveacar.
They were very helpful and efficient and within a few minutes arrangements were being made. I live in quite a rural area so was impressed that within a couple of days the bike had been collected by a professional recovery service.
Giveacar then provided a receipt to say £120 had been forwarded to my nominated charity. Saved me a lot of time and trouble so everyone's a winner.
Thank you Giveacar.
