See what charities say about us
We've raised over £3.5million for charities since we started.
Hear from some of them about why they love Givecar...
“So far we’ve raised an amazing £25,000 through Giveacar! Donating your car not only saves you the job of selling your car, it is also a great way to raise vital funds for Parkinson’s UK to continue improving life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s.”
Giveacar is the brain child of a socially aware and very green group who saw the opportunity to help people with the eternal problem of what to do with an old, possibly much loved car that has become too expensive to fix while at the same time helping good causes. The MS Research Treatment & Education has already received over £4,500 through Giveacar donations ranging from £10 to £255. We are most grateful to the all of the car donors who wanted to dispose of their old vehicles responsibly while helping MS Research to carry out vital research to help people, young and old affected by a life changing, progressive disabling condition. There are over 100,000 people in the UK diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) which can lead to increasing dependency, often with pain, fatigue, loss of personal dignity and restrictions to daily life. MS Research is a charity dedicated to furthering our understanding of MS and developing better treatments through research and education, finding real answers to the many and varied difficulties those who have MS and those close to them face daily. If you have an old car that has come to the end of its useful life Giveacar will collect and appropriately and responsibly recycle all car donations free of charge to you while providing valuable income to MS Research.
“We are delighted to be one of the beneficiaries of Giveacar which we see as a unique way of raising the important funds we need. There are over 1.2 million stroke survivors in the UK with more than 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. The funding from Giveacar helps us rebuild lives after stroke. Every car donated really does make a difference.”
So far, Book Aid International have received an incredible £6,200 through the Giveacar scheme – enough to fund the shipment of over 3,000 brand new books to libraries in sub-Saharan Africa. It’s fantastic that our supporters are able to dispose of their unwanted cars in an environmentally friendly way, while benefitting some of the world’s poorest communities at the same time – and it’s a scheme we’re proud to promote. We would like to thank Giveacar for offering this innovative service, and each and every individual who has chosen Book Aid International to benefit from their donation.
ABF The Soldiers’ Charity are very proud to have a well-established relationship with Giveacar’s dedicated and passionate team. We have been partnered together for 10 years now and, during that time, we have received over £10,000 in generous donations from supporters who have donated their cars through Giveacar’s brilliant initiative. All the money we receive goes directly towards improving the lives of soldiers, veterans and their families, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with Giveacar to help the Army family for years to come.
Giveacar is a great way for us at Shelter to raise more money to fund our vital work to end bad housing and homelessness for good. We’ve now raised over £20,000 since 2011 – a big thank you to Giveacar and everyone who has donated their cars to support us.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to Giveacar who have raised in excess of £4000 to help support our vital conservation work around the world. The scheme is such an easy way for people to get rid of an unwanted car whilst doing something positive for charity.
Child Bereavement UK is delighted to partner with Giveacar. The simple donation of your car enables us to carry out valuable work to support families when a baby or child dies, or when a child is bereaved. Together we can help to rebuild their lives and make a real difference, thank you.
We have been working with Giveacar since 2011 and it is great scheme. So far we have received £1,150 and hope more people will use the scheme to enable us to continue supporting the children of Sussex with life-limiting or life-threatning conditions and their families.
Although London City Mission has been around since 1835, we are always looking for new and innovative ways to raise funds to carry on our ministry. We are delighted to be working with Giveacar, and so far we have raised over £1,400 through them for our work by simply promoting it through our social media channels and quarterly magazine; thanks to a number of generous supporters who have donated their scrap cars. An old heap rusting away on the drive may simply be an inconvenience to a supporter, but by disposing of it quickly and easily though Giveacar, they may raise £100 for our work. This would provide refreshments for a month at a drop-in or homework club at one of our Christian Centres dotted around London, or literally be “bangers for cash” and help providing towards a hot breakfast for the 100 or so homeless guests that visit our centre near Waterloo every morning, or any of a number of other ways that we continue to share Jesus Christ with all London.
