Willow Wood Hospice provides specialist In Patient & Day Patient Palliative Care and support to those suffering with life threatening conditions and their families.
Operating in the local communities of Tameside and Glossop and caring for local people, every penny donated to Willow Wood will stay in the community and will help provide our specialist care to those in need of our specialist services.
The Hospice first opened its doors in May 1999 and since then the Hospice has cared for more than 2,000 patients and their families. Willow Wood Hospice cares for up to 12 In Patients and 15 Day Patients at any given time alongside which we provide various Out Patient services including physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, a specialised Lymphoedema Clinic, a dedicated Blood Transfusion service and most recently a Dementia service.
The Hospice is a place of warmth and comfort set in a homely environment which is often a relief to those who have spent months – sometimes years – in and out of hospital. Contrary to belief, the Hospice is full of life, love and laughter and a place where staff ensure patients maintain their dignity and live life to the full within their own limitations.
The staff and volunteers at Willow Wood are committed to providing a better quality of life and as such the Hospice was originally designed with the needs of the patients and their families in mind and provides a warm and cheery atmosphere. Everyone who visits Willow Wood is touched by the positive ambience.
