The Well, Multi-Cultural Resource Centre serves the diverse ethnic minority communities in South East Glasglow and surrounding areas, by providing information and advice in a culturally sensitive manner – through one-to-one relational support, they make a long term difference to people’s lives. Thanks to their wonderful volunteers from many churches in and around Glasgow, they offer help in a variety of ways including drop-in advice and information, various activities to develop skills and confidence, opportunities to volunteer, resources for events which celebrate multi-culturalism, and training in cross-cultural work for other agencies and churches.
The Well aims to help those who are disadvantaged by poverty, poor English skills and racism. They also want to reduce the social deprivation of local residents, with a particular focus on women from ethnic minorities. Their third aim is to strengthen the community integration with their residents from across 50 nationalities by sharing their backgrounds and common needs.
Giveacar and its donors are proud supporters of The Well as they work hard to support people from disadvantaged backgrounds, individuals who are socially deprived and bringing communities closer together. If you’re planning to scrap or sell your car, give a car instead to help The Well. Do a good deed and help The Well provide this service which enables people to settle into and thrive within the community they call home.
