Russet House School offers a broad and balanced education for children from 4-11 years with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder in a happy, purposeful atmosphere, where everyone counts and every achievement is valued.
Fundraising is extremely important to ensure that we can continue to provide the very best resources for our children and to help create an environment suitable for their needs. Funds raised contribute to extra-curricular activities such as horse-riding , and we are currently raising additional funds to redesign our Food Technology room and to create a large, flexible Art Hub. We are very grateful for any donation, large or small, as this additional funding can make a real difference to the school experience for our children.
The Friends of Russet House School (FORHS) has been a registered charity since 2002. It was set up to raise money and to invite and receive contributions for the benefit of pupils attending Russet House School.
Throughout the year, the Friends arrange events for the children and everyone involved with the school. These events are principally about raising money for school projects but also about having fun and contributing to the social life of the school.
Some of the ways that the Friends have been able to support the school by using the generous donations they have received included:
• The purchase, annual maintenance and running costs of a school minibus
• Enhancing the curriculum by providing horse riding and funding class outings
• The purchase of playground equipment such as covered sand play areas and bicycles
• Paying for performances by outside entertainers
