RSPCA York and District Branch

There has been a branch of the RSPCA in York since 1864. We support local inspectors by taking in mistreated or abandoned animals, including taking in pets whose owners suffer ill health, financial difficulties or who have passed away.

We provide a subsidised clinic providing veterinary treatment for sick or injured animals for local people on low incomes.

We also provide subsidised neutering for local people on low incomes thereby promoting responsible pet ownership.

Alongside the Inspectorate we provide education, information and advice, to aid the prevention of cruelty and mistreatment of animals.
