The Animal Centre is run on minimal staff and takes in animals that are abandoned, abused or can no longer be cared for. Many come via the Inspectors investigating cruelty and neglect and require veterinary treatment and nursing at our expense before they are fit to be found new loving homes.
Sometimes it takes several months to find the right family for a rescue animal but we will never put to sleep a rehomeable pet.
The unpaid charity trustees must raise £500,000 every year in Cornwall to maintain the rescue centre as we receive no government funding. We rely on supporters’ donations, attending fundraising events and the income from four charity shops in Bude, Camborne, Reduth and St Austell. They are run entirely on voluntary help and every penny of profit directly supports the Venton Centre.
