Robert Owen Communities (ROC) is a charitable organisation that works with people with learning disabilities (and those who support them) across Devon and Cornwall.
ROC has been operating for over 20 years and offers a range of services including residential care, supported living, health and creative activities, as well as work and learning opportunities.
People are encouraged to learn skills and confidence through engagement and challenge. ROC offers individualised programmes of learning as the basis of achieving certificated vocational skills and supporting independence, as well as developing pathways to employment.
ROC Creative provides an environment for people to be able to express themselves creatively, through art, painting and drawing, sculpture, model making, textiles, music and dance, craft activities, photography, animation and video production. ROC Creative is staffed by specialist practitioners with a wide range of arts interests and professional experience.
ROC Active enables people, who may otherwise be excluded, to walk in and be supported to use leisure centre facilities fully. ROC Active staff also facilitate outdoor pursuits such as surfing, abseiling and rock climbing through specially arranged trips. These help to promote inclusion within the community, independence and a better and healthier lifestyle.
