How it all Began

Kristian was a fit, healthy and happy 18 year old who was assaulted in September 2010 and sustained a catastrophic brain injury. He was in a coma for 7 days, which he miraculously came out of and was back on the road to recovery, although his behaviour was affected due to front lobe brain damage. We fought to get him into the best rehabilitation unit, based in Northampton, and carried out fund raising to help his family and friends visit him. Initially we though he was doing ok and were waiting for plates to be put into his skull before full rehabilitation could take place. After two months of being at the unit he started to lose weight and had little interest. I became extremely worried about him and kept expressing my concerns to anyone and everyone that would listen. I visited every weekend and his friends visited once a month. We truly believed we would get him home. My brave beautiful son died on 10th July 2011, he was only 19. We have tirelessly campaigned for 2 years to get the justice Kristian deserves.

Our Aim

One Punch UK envisions a nation without violence, where social violence is condemned.

  • To  raise   awareness  of   the    devastation   that    ONE PUNCH can do.

  • To educate people about the risks and consequences of a split second decision to engage in violence.

  • To harness the knowledge and life experiences of those affected by one-punch violence, to educate others.

  • It helps people make safe choices, to recognise the warning signs of and deal with a potentially violent situation.

  • Develop targeted intervention pathways for the perpetrators of social violence.

  • We will work alongside other agencies who are campaigning against alcohol and drug fuelled violence.

  • We will produce an education package to deliver in schools, colleges, universities, workplaces amongst other areas.

  • We believe that if we start early in schools, educating children about the consequences of one punch, we will make a difference.

  • We will support the victims of one-punch violence, which includes families and friends who have also suffered as a result.  Maxine, Kristian’s mam, received very little professional support so this is an important part of the campaign.

  • Kristian’s Journey believe that they have the experience to make a difference with the One Punch North East campaign.

Excellent service!
I have recently given two vehicles away through Giveacar; one was our own whose proceeds went to a charity in Zambia and the other was my late sister's car from which we raised over £100 for Breast Cancer Now.
On both occasions I found the system was simple and highly efficient and the staff all very friendly. From initial contact to having the vehicle taken away was easy and quick - less than a week for one of them!
Highly recommended - getting rid of an old car, letting someone else do the work and donating to your chosen charity - what's not to like?!
