LOROS, The Leicester and Leicestershire Organisation for Relief of the Suffering cares for local people who have a terminal illness, free of charge regardless of ethnicity or faith.
LOROS is an independent local charity providing palliative care and support to over 2,500 people each year within Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
We provide specialised and respite care for those over eighteen with complex problems who have a terminal illness such as cancer or Motor Neurone Disease.
LOROS charges no fees for its services, which are available to all local people based upon medical need regardless of their ethnicity or faith. The charity relies upon the generosity and support of local people, organisations and businesses, which enables us to raise the £4.5 million needed each year to provide our valued services to patients and their families. Our services include a 31-bed hospice, outpatient services, day therapy and a team of nurses in the community. We are proud that 90% of the money donated to LOROS goes directly towards patient care.
