Kijana Kwanza (Young People First) aims to empower a generation of children and young people in Tanzania through education, vocational training and life skills development.
We support over 200 children and young people each year to attend school, acquire professional skills and set up small businesses. We achieve this through our child and student sponsorship programme, regular short courses in English and computing at our drop-in facilities and providing grants and interest-free loans.
At any one time, up to 28 of the most disadvantaged children, including orphans and former street children, reside with us at our shelter that provides for all their subsistence, schooling and medical needs.
