Hospital Radio Yare is a small charity that began in 1977, we provide music and entertainment for the benefit of patients and staff at the James Paget University Hospital in Great Yarmouth.
Hospital Radio Yare is a small charity, run completely by a band of dedicated volunteers, to provide music and entertainment, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for the patients and staff at the James Paget University Hospital in Norfolk. Musical tastes vary enormously, and volunteers visit the hospital wards to speak to the patients and staff at least five days a week, collecting requests for the presenters to play. Programs cover all genres from classical to current chart music, stories, plays, sport, hourly news, and a weekly church service. When live broadcasts are not being made our automatic system takes over. Various outside activities are carried out to enable us to raise the necessary funds to cover the on-going costs of running the service; these include local fetes, bucket collections, raffles, etc.
