The Hospice of the Good Shepherd

Location: Cheshire
Causes: Hospice Care

The Hospice of the Good Shepherd is a 12 in-patient bed hospice based in Chester. We provide quality specialist palliative and end of life care for the people, relatives and carers of our local community. We work closely with other health care professionals to achieve this.

We appreciate that for many people, their first introduction to The Hospice of the Good Shepherd comes at a particularly difficult period in their lives.
They may have lots of questions, uncertainty and fear about the days ahead. Our role is to answer those questions wherever possible and to provide support and reassurance to the whole family. The days ahead may be difficult, but you will be safe in our care.

Our main activity is the delivery of specialist medical and nursing care to patients and their families by a skilled and dedicated team. The services offered by the Hospice are varied across a number of disciplines and reflect the diverse nature of our work in the community. For example, during the past year the Hospice has provided almost 300 In-patient stays and had over 1,000 Day Therapy attendances. There were also over 800 medical consultations in Hospice Out-Patients and Day Therapy. The Hospice offers social, psychological and spiritual support from our social workers and spiritual care team.

Together with the support offered by our bereavement team, almost 1,000 families benefited from these services.

Our full services include:
• In-patient services
• Out-patient clinics
• Day Therapy
• Complementary therapies clinic
• Bereavement Services
• Spiritual Care Team
• Catering & Housekeeping
• Social Work & Family Support

Very impressive service …

Within a couple of hours of registering my details on their website, Giveacar contacted me and arranged collection of my car with a local scrap dealer. My car was collected within 3 days of my initial contact with them.

I was very impressed with the speed and quality of their service and it raised £41 for my chosen charity.

I would definitely recommend Giveacar if you have an old banger that you either can't or don't want the hassle of selling on.
