Charity Name: Home-Start Craven

Parents need help, friendship, advice and support during those early years when children are young. Home-Start Craven offers support to families going through difficult times such as feeling isolated, illness, poor mental health, bereavement, the demands of having twins, disability, support with budgeting and cooking healthy family meals and other similar challenges.

Home-Start Craven matches each supported family with a volunteer who will visit a them once a week to offer a mixture of practical help and emotional support. Volunteers come from all walks of life and have a wealth of parenting experience. All of our volunteers undertake a training course and are DBS checked before being allowed to visit families

We have been absolutely delighted to take part in the Giveacar scheme. We have had several cars donated to us through this scheme and it provides us with an additional way to riase very much needed funds to continue improving the lives of animals in The Gambia. It’s such an easy scheme to use and is easy for us as the charity, as well as being easy for th person who needs to scrap their car too.

So far, we have received an amazing £37,947.11 through Giveacar donations. Today, 771 million people don’t have clean water close to home and 1.7 billion people don’t have access to a proper toilet.
