This Christmas Hearts and Helpers is supporting people affected by homelessness both on and off the streets. With the help of Giveacar, we aim to provide 100 people affected by homelessness with a hot dinner and support kits tailored to their needs. With the added pressures of the Covid-19 pandemic, this support is needed more than ever.
One scrap car could provide 3 rough sleeper kits. This includes a light-weight backpack, Covid-19 safety booklet, hand sanitiser, face masks, gloves, footwear, 2 pairs of socks, dry food essentials, water bottle, small blanket and a Christmas dinner.
People become homeless for many different reasons. Someone fleeing domestic abuse may leave with just the clothes on their back. Once they are rehoused the problems do not end there. Having to fund and furnish a home can cause financial hardship, debt and anxiety. One auction vehicle could support a family fleeing domestic abuse by helping them set up home, meaning they are less likely to go back to their abuser. With your donations we can provide home starter kits, which may include home hygiene packs, bedding, furniture and white goods.
