Headway is the UK-wide charity that works to improve life after brain injury. It provides support, services and information to brain injury survivors, their families and carers.
Headway provides support, services and information to brain injury survivors, their families and carers. A brain injury can have devastating consequences for individuals and their families, affecting every aspect of life. When it does, Headway is here to help.
A free phone nurse-led helpline and Headway Acute Trauma Support (HATS) nurses provide advice and support to brain injury survivors and their families. Our award-winning website, range of booklets and fact sheets contain specific information on all aspects of brain injury to help people deal with the effects of their injury.
We operate accreditation schemes for approved residential homes, rehabilitation units and specialist brain injury solicitors ensuring people receive the appropriate care and legal advice following their injury. Our UK-wide training courses work to improve knowledge and understanding of brain injury amongst families and professionals.
As well as physical and psychological impacts, there can often be difficult financial implications in the immediate aftermath of a brain injury; our emergency fund helps people to deal with this.
We also support a network of more than 100 groups and branches that provide physical, cognitive and social rehabilitation and support to individuals and families.
