Over one billion people worldwide lack access to clean drinking water and more than two million people die every year from dirty water-related diseases. These especially affect children under the age of five.
FRANK Water Projects use the latest filtering technology to remove bacteria, viruses and, very importantly, dissolved chemicals from the water.
FRANK Water Projects has to date allocated funds for over 78 clean water plants in India, reaching more than 500 thousand people. We’re funding more projects over the coming months and will be reaching more villages.
Each project costs around £7,000 and provides clean, safe drinking water for up to 7,000 people in the village and surrounding communities.
That means that for every pound donated, clean, healthy drinking water is provided for one person, for life.
FRANK Water staff make annual visits to the villages and meet our partners to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of the projects.
Once a project is set up, it is owned, run and maintained by the local community, with support workers on hand to provide advice when needed. Local operators from that specific village are trained to operate and maintain the facility. These clean water plants mean women and children don’t need to walk for hours to collect water from distant bore-holes. And they mean that people are healthier and don’t miss important days at school or work.
On behalf of all these people, Thank You for your support.
