The mission of the Eden Project is to connect people with each other and the living world, and to explore how we can work together towards a better future. Our planet is under threat from human actions that will endanger its ability to sustain human life as we know it. We believe that everything in our universe is connected, and it is in understanding these connections that solutions will be found. We deliver a range of projects in the UK and across the world that transform places and environments, and improve people’s lives.
Education
Education is at the heart of what Eden does. Over 50,000 schoolchildren to our immersive learning environment, running curriculum-focused workshops designed to inspire and engage pupils with nature, science and sustainability. Meanwhile, our apprenticeships provide an education in sustainable business as well as in the chosen career path, and our university-accredited degree programmes offer a unique experience to study horticulture, event management or sustainable tourism.
Ecology
Our unique Rainforest Biome offers valuable diverse research opportunities including investigating new bio-controls for pest diseases, developing artificial soil recipes and studying rainforest canopy biodiversity. We’re now home to the National Wildflower Centre, devising new programmes with the aims of reversing ecological decline and bringing wildflowers back into the UK’s living culture.
Community
Our innovative Social Prescribing programme works with GPs to provide nature–based activities for people managing chronic health conditions; including Health Walks for people with COPD, diabetes and cardiac conditions, Lunch Clubs for isolated senior citizens, and Therapeutic Horticulture for people living with anxiety and depression. We also pioneer The Big Lunch, encouraging friendlier, safer neighbourhoods where people share more – from conversations and ideas to skills and resources.
Your donation will help fund our mission and improve our world for the next generation. Thank you.
