Cobalt

Cobalt is a medical charity helping people affected by cancer and other life-limiting conditions. Our unique scanning centre is at the forefront of diagnostic imaging technology. Every year we scan around 8,000 people with cancer and other serious illnesses and 10,000 people for musculoskeletal conditions. Mobile MRI units travel throughout the region and beyond, taking the very best scanners to people in their own area. As well as cancer, our equipment is now able to detect illnesses such as different forms of dementia (including Alzheimer’s) and multiple sclerosis. We offer free training and education courses on a local, national and international basis to doctors, health-care professionals and the public, ensuring our experience, research and cancer prevention work is widely shared.
