Our mission is to help disadvantaged children in Eastern Europe turn their lives around, through the creation of long-term partnerships with local organisations. We believe that the ongoing circumstances and endemic limitations surrounding vulnerable, abandoned, and disabled children in Eastern Europe can be transformed – to one of security, opportunity, and hope. Our desire is to help children turn their lives around so that they can lead normal and productive lives as adults; even with their ongoing disabilities or additional needs.
Established over 45 years ago ChildAid is proud and honoured to continue to bring essential support, to the following groups across four distinct sectors in Belarus, Moldova, Siberia, and Ukraine:
- Abandonment: Preventing families breaking down or supporting those who have been abandoned
- Education & Play: Giving children a voice and a childhood
- Healthcare: Transforming lives and transforming attitudes to disability through direct action
- Vulnerability: Creating firm foundations for children, young people, and families living in precarious conditions
Our work, with local partners, cares for over 2,500 children and young people who are living in crisis families; living with disabilities; are orphans; or are living in the Ukrainian conflict zone or refugee compounds.
