Amy’s House is a small charity that provides care and support to families who have children aged 5-19 with disabilities and often life limiting illnesses. The charity was set up in 2003 by parents Maurice and Meriel after losing their eldest daughter Amy who passed away after contracting Meningococal Scepticemia (Meningitis B).
They now care and support more than 80 families. Amy’s House focuses on meeting the holistic requirements of children with additional needs through education, exercise and above all, fun. Amy’s House is the only respite centre of its kind in the Sheffield area to not only support the child but also their siblings.
They offer both term time and school holiday sessions in the form of play. They also offer a personal assistance service for those who require help with children at home or in hospital.
Giveacar and its donors are proud supporters of Amy’s House, as it buys precious time for people when they most desperately need it. Give a car and make a difference help support those families in need.
