Age UK Suffolk works with and for senior citizens in Suffolk, campaigns with them and on their behalf and is a provider of direct services and support across the county.
Older people tell us what later life is about: getting involved, enjoying yourself, learning new things and receiving help when you need it.
Therefore our mission is to enable older people to live independently for longer in their own home, by providing any support needed to meet older people’s requirements.
Age UK Suffolk employs over 400 staff and has over 700 volunteers in its services and activities around the county.
These 1000+ people work in a variety of very different ways, but each makes a vital contribution. Some work in teams, for example the day centres and offices or outreach activities like ‘Talkabout’ forums. Other work alone for services that require visiting older people at home, such as befrienders, independence or benefits advisers, advocates, home helps or carer support workers.
