Against Breast Cancer

Against Breast Cancer funds unique research into secondary spread, the main cause of breast-cancer related deaths.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. It is responsible for around 11,500 deaths each year – that’s over 30 people every day.

Our research is designed to support people living with breast cancer. We have a particular interest in improving our understanding of the impact of diet & lifestyle plays on breast cancer recurrence.

We fund challenging long term projects which are located at the universities of Southampton and Oxford where our research is focused on three key themes:

Prevention – Improving our understanding of how diet and lifestyle may increase or reduce the risk of secondary breast cancer developing.

Detection – Designing better tools for earlier diagnosis of secondary breast cancer, increasing survival rates.

Therapies – Developing new therapies, using the body’s own natural defences to design more effective treatments and ultimately a vaccine against breast cancer.

Your support will help us to continue this life saving research, helping to create a future free from breast cancer.
