A Night in Budapest

Day 6

The morning after the launch party was a difficult one as we had to hurriedly pack it things away after a wake up call from a megaphone. Upon waking we reached for the water only to discovery JOHN had bought sparkling water without realising. We then had ourselves some breakfast from one of the food tents before everybody officially set off on the Mongol Rally.

We drove to Bratislava where we had a couple of hours to walk around a bit and get some dinner. We then continued onwards to Budapest to spend the night there. We arrived in Budapest and set about finding our hostel which we had paid £6 for the night, we wondered the streets but couldn’t find it anywhere so we finally decided to go into a bar and ask. To our surprise the bar tender said it’s just the next door down. We walked out and saw a big black door with some small white writing on it saying hostel upstairs. We walked in to a pitch black corridor and up some stairs in to a hostel where we were welcomed into an 4 bunk bed room with distinctly damp sheets straight out of the washing machine. We then headed out and had a few beers in the famous ruin bars, incredible bars which were left in ruins after World War Two, we then had a kebab and went to bed for an early rise the next day.
