So far, the Giveacar scheme has raised over £12,000 for the British Heart Foundation (BHF). This money has contributed to the fantastic work of the BHF, helping us in our fight against heart disease. Just £120 is enough to fund a BHF helpline nurse for the day, enabling patients and families alike to receive support and guidance on how to live with heart disease. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has chosen to support the BHF through this scheme.

We have received £2000 through Give-a-Car donation so far... Just £15 helps a child get access to clean water and sanitation and this is just the beginning... Access to clean water and sanitation helps communities out of the cycle of poverty and empowers girls to go to school rather than have to walk miles to fetch dirty water, they have no choice. You do. Thank you!

The Nowzad Dogs charity is extremely pleased to be supported by the ‘GiveaCar’ scheme as our work in Afghanistan is entirely funded by the generosity of the great British animal loving public. Currently we are working towards reducing rabies in Kabul through a humane trap neuter release programme amongst the out of control stray dog population whilst operating the only small animal shelter in Afghanistan. We also assist serving soldiers on the front lines in Afghanistan rescue their new found four legged buddies that have helped them deal with the stresses the soldiers can face during a tour of duty. Nowzad Dogs has started small but with schemes like this we will make a difference for the animals of Afghanistan with no voice but ours.

We are delighted to be a part of the Giveacar scheme. It is a fun and easy way for everyone to get involved in fundraising and has been a great success. Parkinson’s UK have now raised over £1,000 with Giveacar which could fund a cutting edge research project for a whole week.

Giveacar is the brain child of a socially aware and very green group who saw the opportunity to help people with the eternal problem of what to do with an old, possibly much loved car that has become too expensive to fix while at the same time helping good causes. The charity Multiple Sclerosis Research has already received just under £2,200 through Giveacar donations ranging from £38 to £255. We are most grateful to the 23 car donors who wanted to dispose of their old cars responsibly while helping MS Research to carry out vital research to help young people affected by a life changing, progressive disabling condition. There are approximately 100,000 people in the UK diagnosed with MS. It can mean increasing dependency, often with pain, fatigue, loss of personal dignity and restriction to 'disabled accessible' environments. The focus of MS Research is on finding real answers to the many and varied difficulties those who have MS and those close to them face daily. If you have an old car that has come to the end of its useful life Giveacar will collect and appropriately and responsibly recycle all car donations free of charge to you while providing valuable income to the charity.

We are delighted to be one of the beneficiaries of Giveacar which we see as a unique way of raising the important funds we need. Stroke affects over 150,000 people in the UK every year. The funding from Giveacar helps us to save lives and prevent stroke. Every car donated really does make a difference. Since joining the scheme we have been amazed at how this has become a regular income source. We are very grateful to all those who have supported us through this innovative scheme, we hope it will continue so we can help more stroke survivors to make the best possible recovery they can.

“We’re thrilled with the results we’ve seen since choosing to promote Giveacar to our supporters. So far, the scheme has raised over £2,400 for Book Aid International, enabling us to send 1,200 brand-new books to Africa, and provided our supporters with an environmentally friendly way to dispose of their unwanted cars. After informing our supporters of this service, all we had to do was sit back and wait for the money to come in. Giveacar take care of everything and are always very friendly and helpful. To me this seems like a win win situation!”

ABF The Soldiers’ Charity are very proud to be working with Giveacar’s professional and hard-working team. We received our first donation of £40 in 2010 and since then, over £2,700 has been generated through the scheme which is fantastic! The Giveacar team have been very keen to get to know about the charity’s work and have offered great support in terms of how to encourage our existing supporters to scrap their cars in support of The Soldiers’ Charity and how to attract new donors. A big thank you to Giveacar and to the donors who have generously scrapped their cars for us, which will ensure we can continue to support our soldiers, veterans and their families in the greatest need, regardless of age, rank or where they served.

Although London City Mission has been around since 1835, we are always looking for new and innovative ways to raise funds to carry on our ministry. We are delighted to be working with Giveacar, and so far we have raised over £1,400 through them for our work by simply promoting it through our social media channels and quarterly magazine; thanks to a number of generous supporters who have donated their scrap cars. An old heap rusting away on the drive may simply be an inconvenience to a supporter, but by disposing of it quickly and easily though Giveacar, they may raise £100 for our work. This would provide refreshments for a month at a drop-in or homework club at one of our Christian Centres dotted around London, or literally be “bangers for cash” and help providing towards a hot breakfast for the 100 or so homeless guests that visit our centre near Waterloo every morning, or any of a number of other ways that we continue to share Jesus Christ with all London.

Giveacar is a great scheme which has raised over £3,000 to help persecuted Christians through Release. Frankly, I was initially a little skeptical as to how many people would use it, but we’ve seen that this is a highly effective form of passive fundraising. The company is efficient, and we are pleased and thankful to be associated with them.

Giveacar is a brilliant scheme where everybody wins. My sister gave them a call on a Friday to recycle her very rusty, 20-year-old Skoda. They picked it up the following Wednesday. Done. It didn't cost her a penny and she raised £140.00 for Sambat Trust. From a charity's perspective,we love working with Givecar. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Every time a car is donated to Sambat Trust, we receive a letter with a breakdown of the donation and how we can send a thank you letter to our kind donor. Excellent service and support which is free of charge. So to any charity out there, sign up now because this is an innovative, environmentally friendly and efficient way for you fundraise, and to any generous soul looking to get rid of their old car, please donate it to the Sambat Trust- your old banger can still do some good. And remember, it's FREE!
