Many people ask why someone would be motivated to give away a car in order for the money to go to charity. They see their cars as worth a fair amount of money and expect to reap the rewards when it comes to the day that they must part.
However, it is now the case that there are a great deal of vehicles out there that are non-runners, taking up space in people's driveways, and causing difficulties with the DVLA concerning registration and tax status. These people do not know of a free and simple service that collects the car and makes paperwork easy by ensuring that you are provided with a Certificate of Destruction, which is then passed on to the DVLA as proof of your newly relinquished responsibility.
These scrap cars can raise between £40-160, depending on the model and make of the car and the region in which it is collected. This is a considerable amount of money that can help with the weekly shop and other expense... but, if you think about it, it can make an even bigger impact on the work of one of your favourite charities.
We currently have a roster of over 600 charities, ranging from little-known local charities to nationwide organisations, all equally deserving of the money raised from the scrap metal of your car.
We also manage to raise more money - as much as £4700 in the recent case of a scrap Vauxhall VX220 – for younger bashed up cars. This car was at the end of its life, but still of great value to bidders at the salvage auction. So, just because your car would be too expensive to get fixed, does not mean that it cannot raise a staggering amount for a worthy charity.
