[value] => The Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre was established in 1989 with the purpose of providing inner city children and young people with disabilities the opportunities of learning to ride and care for animals in a safe and supportive environment. Thus helping the young people to have a better quality of life and leading them to gain self confidence.
All this is achieved in a little oasis tucked in the shadow of the White City estate and the Wormwood Scrubs Prison. The centre has a small team of professional staff and a large team of excellent volunteers some of whom have been volunteering for over 20 years. There are 17 very loved and cared for horses and ponies as well as other small animals.
The centre is a member of Riding for the Disabled, a branch of the Pony Club and is approved by the British Horse Society and the Association of British Riding Schools.
