The Booth Centre
The Booth Centre is a drop-in and activity centre for homeless people. The centre opened in May 1995 and is based in Manchester Cathedral.
About us
The Booth Centre provides a safe and welcoming environment for people who are homeless. We aim to empower people to make informed choices and enable them to make positive changes to their lives. We provide positive experiences in order to help people to build self respect and self confidence and to look to the future.
What we do
We have open door drop-ins, provide advice to help people to find accommodation, claim benefits, register with a G.P. and get treatment and support for drug, alcohol and mental health problems. We run a a full programme of activities aimed at increasing people's skills, confidence and self esteem; and when they are ready we will support people to find employment or take up education, training or voluntary work in the community.
Get involved
Whether you make a donation or raise funds on our behalf, volunteer at the centre or promote our cause through your workplace, there is a way for everyone to get involved.
Donate now
We greatly depend on voluntary donations. Thanks to our supporters we are able to provide a full range of services which really transform the lives of hundreds of homeless people in Manchester every year, and everything, including food, is free of charge.
What they say about us:
"it has been fantastic to link up with Giveacar. It is proving to be a really valuable new source of funding for our day centre for homeless people. We have had really positive reports from the people who have donated cars about how easy it is to do and what a professional service it is. Giveacar are really efficient and get the donations to us very quickly. I hope more people take up the opportunity of getting unwanted cars off the streets and helping a charity such as ours at the same time."
