Teacher Support Cymru
Who we are
Originally, as the Teacher’s Benevolent Fund, and today as Teacher Support Network, we have been helping teachers and their families for over 130 years. Yet many teachers still don’t know that we exist.
What we do
Teacher Support Network is the only independent charity in the country supporting trainee, serving and retired teachers. Our work can be divided into two key areas: assistance and prevention.
We assist teachers in need through our services, with thousands using our telephone and counselling support, information and online support, and we continue to give up to £300,000 in grants per year.
At the same time, we want to help prevent the need for this assistance by working on policy, research and campaigns to improve the status and recognition of teachers and develop tools and strategies to improve teacher wellbeing. To this end we work in partnership with the Government, trade unions and other charities such as Family Lives.
Our services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year. They are free and totally confidential.
How to get support
We know that asking for help can be hard and we know that calling a support line is not always a comfortable experience. That is why when you call us we will not be working from a script. We will use our many years of experience and expertise to listen to you and help you find ways to move forward.
