Sherman Cymru

The multi-award winning Sherman Cymru (Deep Cut, Speechless) is Cardiff’s only producing theatre house.  Situated in the heart of Cardiff, a few minutes from the city centre, adjacent to the university buildings and in a residential area, Sherman Cymru takes its responsibility to its local community very seriously.
The theatre building is currently going through a massive redevelopment project that will directly benefit visitors, participants and artists using the building in the future and also creating a landmark building for the east side of Cardiff.
There will be a complete overhaul of the front of house area and a totally new look for the front of the theatre. There will also be new seating, heating and ventilation systems as well as improvements to accessibility in all areas of the building. The new building will allow us to continue producing high quality drama and nuture young and local talent.
We have already achieved over 80% of the total cost, leaving us with only £1.3 million to raise. The redevelopment will include a complete refurbishment of the foyer area including toilets, new seating and new heating and cooling systems.
The new Sherman Cymru theatre building is due to re-open in Autumn 2011.
