Perfect Day Foundation

HQ Location:
London

Location of benefit:
Africa

The Perfect Day Foundation was established in 2008 by a group of friends who visited Zambia in 2006 to work with a non government organisation- Sport in Action. They worked with young peer leaders to develop their leadership skills and to help raise awareness about the prevention and treatment of HIV/Aids. This charity was established to build a network of people who share the same goals, who see sport as a powerful tool to teach vital life and leadership skills and who would like to be part of taking small steps to tackle big issues.
Sport in Action provides sporting opportunities to young people across Zambia, they train peer leaders and coaches, they increase awareness of HIV/Aids, and they work with hundreds of young people on a day to day basis to utilise sport as a way of changing perceptions.
The foundation aims to advance the education of young Zambians in deprived communities, to relieve poverty and continually support the ever expanding work of Sport in Action.
Every penny raised goes directly to the charity and is used for anything from sponsoring peer leaders through education to refurbishing toilet and shower blocks in a street kids centre in Lusaka.
