Paul's Cancer Support Centre
Paul’s Cancer Support Centre (registered as Paul D’Auria Cancer Support
Centre) has its roots in the community and was founded in 1983. Since then the charity has pioneered the use of complementary therapies in supporting people affected by cancer. We aim to directly improve the quality of life of people with cancer by
• Increasing people's sense of control and influence
• Reducing levels of stress and trauma
• Improving self-esteem and self-confidence
• Creating a sense of well-being
We offer a warm and welcoming environment, in which each person is regarded as an individual with their own unique response to the changes brought about by a potentially life-threatening illness.
Our services are open to anyone over the age of 18 affected by any form of cancer and we offer one-to-one services including counselling and massage. We have an information service, telephone support line and drop-in service. We also provide classes, support groups and a programme of wellbeing events to help improve self confidence and reduce social isolation. Our ongoing courses help people manage their stress and to develop their coping skills. We have a Home Visiting Service for housebound people providing emotional support.
