HANDS AROUND THE WORLD
HANDS AROUND THE WORLD (HATW) is a charitable trust which has since 1994 helped vulnerable children around the world, working in partnership with local organisations and communities, and encouraging enthusiastic and well-prepared volunteers to offer practical help and skill-sharing.
Currently we work with 8 partners in Zambia, Rwanda, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda and India.
For example, in 2006 we started to support Mrs. Veronica Sianga, a very inspirational local lady who whilst working as a community outreach worker at Monze Mission hospital in Zambia, rapidly found herself coping with almost
500 children orphaned by HIV/AIDS. She set up a wonderful project, caring for them as individuals and meeting their numerous needs – love, food, clothing, housing, schooling and more.
The project is doing well, and we have been very impressed by the enthusiasm and motivation of the local team; we have sought to encourage her, and helped build, equip and sustain her 2 small schools. As our aim is to achieve a lasting difference in the lives of these children we are naturally very keen to do more.
