Fields of Life is an Irish founded interdenominational, cross community Christian development charity founded in 1995. It is our vision to see meaningful and real change occur in the lives of whole communities. The mission of providing sustainable community development focuses now on four main thematic issues such as provision of quality education, provision of clean water, health promotion initiatives and income generating projects.

To date, Fields of Life have managed the construction of 101 schools (88 primary / 13 secondary), in Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Burundi and Democratic Republic of Congo, providing an education for 41,000 children. We currently have 3,300 very needy and vulnerable children being sponsored through their education.

More than 155 wells have been drilled, providing communities (c. 155,000 villagers) with clean, safe drinking water. We are well on our way to fulfilling our vision of drilling 1,000 wells over a ten year period. Fields of Life purchased its own drilling rig late 2009 which reduced costs of borehole drilling from £6,000 to c. £3,300. We have recently purchased a 2nd drilling rig which is in operation and will increase our capacity to 10-12 wells per month to help achieve the drilling of 1,000 wells.
