Counsel and Care’s mission is to get the best care and support for older people by providing advice and information on a range of community care issues, and by influencing the changing government on future policies.
Counsel and Care is the national charity working with older people, their families and carers to get the best care and support. We provide personalised, in-depth advice and information, which informs our research and campaigning work.
For over 50 years Counsel and Care has been working to make sure that everyone who comes to us for advice and information receives the support that they are entitled to.
We provide in-depth, personalized advice and information about care and support for older people over the telephone and through our website and guides. Every year Counsel and Care’s dedicated and sympathetic advice service supports some 250,000 older people and their carers in the UK.
Along with the advice team, influencing and campaigning are key activities in Counsel and Care's mission to get the best care and support for older people, their families and carers. We seek to influence government, the media, and other stakeholders on the key issues facing older people today. To achieve better policies, services and funding, we use evidence from the experience of older people reported to our advice service and from our research. We campaign in our own right and as members of external networks and coalitions.
