Death is an overwhelming experience which can often leave children and young people feeling very alone and isolated. They can experience the pain and anguish of death much the same as adults, although their reactions will vary, depending on their age, maturity and understanding.
Timely interventions from CHUMS can make a real difference and help them to process some of their thoughts and to share their feelings, gaining valuable support at a difficult time. When given the opportunity to connect with others who have had similar experiences, children and young people can begin to adjust to living life in a different way. CHUMS offers various interventions which help to build resilience and give children and young people hope for the future.
