British Dalmatian Welfare

You CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Charity Name: British Dalmatian Welfare

British Dalmatian Welfare is run by volunteers who all have extensive experience of the breed and its individual characteristics. Our Charity offers a full service of re-homing dogs of any age to owners who can no longer keep their dog for whatever reason, no charge is made for this service. All dogs are assessed and then only re-homed to ‘approved and vetted’ owners, this assessment and vetting is carried out by our own helpers who have all had Dalmatians themselves. Depending on the age of the dog we usually ask for a minimum donation of £100 from the adopter family.
Our aim is to re-home a dog with a family that will suit that particular dogs requirements,a matching process is very carefully conducted to achieve this.
Most dogs that are in need of a new home are still with their owners, so adopter owners rarely meet a dog before they take it. Dogs are not re-homed locally to where they currently live and may be re-homed over 100 miles away.
Transportation is organised by us in conjunction with our helpers.
In certain circumstances our charity will help pay for costs associated with such things as: vet fees, training, behaviourist evaluation, medication for on going illness and other expenses that an owner might not be able to afford. We will offer advice and support over the telephone and/or ask one of our helpers to visit a dog in its own home or at a kennels to assist with assessing its requirements. Circumstances are very varied and we will try to help any Dalmatian in need.
