Ariel Trust is an educational charity based in Liverpool.  We deliver digital
multimedia projects that engage and motivate young people and raise their
awareness of issues that are impacting on their lives e.g. alcohol use,
bullying and anti-social behaviour.

Our projects ask young people to explore the consequences and impacts of
their actions in relation to a specific social theme.  This might include
drinking, how they behave in relationships or the impacts of gangs in their
communities.  They are then asked to identify positive messages that would
get them to think about and change their behaviour.  They use digital media
to turn these messages into a positive media campaign aimed at their peer
group.  This might include publishing their videos on YouTube, designing and
displaying posters in their school and youth clubs or broadcasting radio
adverts on the internet or on a local radio station.

Young people who take part in our projects learn new media skills at the same
time as improving their confidence and communication skills.  We have a track
record of supporting young people to move on to further education or into
employment in the media or in other areas.
