Abbeyfield
Abbeyfield is a charity providing housing, support and care for elderly people.
Many dedicated volunteers give their time on behalf of residents, making sure that every person feels at home. In our houses and care homes, staff provide meals and support to residents and organise the day-to-day running of the house.
Abbeyfield’s approach to providing homes for older people began in 1956 and now includes over 700 houses across the UK accommodating 7,000 residents - our aim is to provide affordable housing, support, care and companionship for older people.
At Abbeyfield we are very conscious of the importance of our role in improving the quality of life for older people. In the last 50 years the number of people over the age of 85 has increased 500% to more than one million – in the next 50 years this figure is set to treble to 3 million. As the need for provision for frail older people grows, Abbeyfield’s work will become even more crucial – with your support we can extend our services across the UK.
