BBC World Challenge Competition
A global competition looking for innovative social projects. We were the only UK finalist and the BBC filmed a 10 minute documentary on Giveacar - short clip below. We made it down to the last 12 finalists but missed out on a podium finish. We are thrilled to be considered one of the 12 most innovative social enterprises in the world though!
Observer Ethical AwardFinalist, Big Idea Category
This award has thousands of entries so we were delighted to make the final three. We were gutted to miss out on winning but enjoyed a fantastic evening at the awards which were attended by the likes of Colin Firth, Lily Cole, Rick Hall, and Ben Okri. We also were given a nice runner’s-up prize of £500.
Venture Candy (Metro Newspaper)
Giveacar made the final three in the environmental category of this competition, which would have seen us receive free advertising from the Metro.
Future 100 awardWinner, Top 10 Young Social Entrepreneur in UK – Tom Chance
Our Founder Tom was delighted to be named one of the top 10 Young Social Entrepreneurs in the UK.
Young Achievers TrustWinner, Environmental Category, 20-25 – Tom Chance
Our Founder Tom won a nice trophy from the Young Achievers Trust.
London Business AwardsShortlist, Business Innovation Category – Giveacar
Giveacar got down to the final five for the London Business Awards in the Business Innovation Category. Despite missing out on the award, the prize ceremony at London Planit Embankment was great fun.
Many thanks to the staff at Giveacar and its partners for handling the collection, auction and donation process so efficiently.
We had an old car. Junkyards weren't interested: wanted paying to take it away. Contacted Giveacar and they had it removed quickly and efficiently and donated £100 to a local hospice. What more can you ask?
An excellent pain free way of disposing of one’s old car in a constructive, socially beneficially manner
Just thought I'd send a quick email to say how impressed we've been with how quickly you arranged the removal of the car we donated. Couldn't have been easier. The people who actually collected the car were very efficient too.
Swift, efficient service from everyone. Well done. We will recommend
I would like to thank you for the quick response in getting rid of my car. Rang you on Monday of this week and it was collected Tuesday. Keep up the good work and I hope lots of charities do well from you and your team of helpers.
Very good from start to finish and a really good price for the car. Thank You
A very good idea and well executed.
This was a very efficient and easy to use way of donating to a good cause, the car was collected today by a very courteous agent.
